I'm Urszula Bauer, a registered teacher, specialist educator, curriculum developer and university facilitator with 15 years’ experience across primary, secondary and special education in Queensland and the Northern Territory. My work has included leadership, inclusion, case management and curriculum development across multiple subject areas, from Prep to Year 10 and beyond.
I continue to teach in schools and facilitate university education units, supporting postgraduate students to connect theory with practice and become thoughtful, capable teachers. I particularly enjoy tailoring guidance and feedback to each learner.
My postgraduate studies in educational neuroscience and extensive professional learning inform my work with neurodivergent learners, including those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia. I adapt teaching for attention, executive functioning, memory, processing, language and sensory needs.
I start with the learner: their strengths, interests, goals and what helps them engage. I use clear teaching, manageable steps and purposeful challenge, adjusting as understanding grows.
I want students to feel capable, think independently and carry useful learning strategies into the classroom and beyond.
Discuss your child’s learningNo. I start with your child’s learning goals and what you notice. Students looking for extension are welcome too.
No. Many families can begin tutoring with a clear goal. The optional check is useful when you want a closer look at current skills and a written starting pathway.
Tell me a little about your child and when you’re available. I’ll reply with suitable appointment options. After we agree on a time, I’ll send payment instructions. Full payment is required before the session; your booking is confirmed when payment is received.
For ongoing tutoring, we can agree on a regular weekly time.
